Hello from Rod Johnston, LSC Commodore

On Australia Day I had the privilege of being involved in one of the biggest functions the LSC has had in such a long time.

Fresh prawns off Mark’s trawler, freshly shucked oysters by Nyletta from Moreton Island and the bistro serving freshly made curry prawn pies and other mouth-watering delights.

I feel so proud to be part of such an enthusiastic group of people, both staff and volunteers who gave all they had to ensure we had a perfect event.

An estimated 800+ people came and the weather was perfect. We even had a Thong Throwing competition.

Come over to the Straddie Fundraising for Kangaroo Island on Sunday 2 February 2020.

Donate $5 at the door. All funds will go to help out Kangaroo Island which has been devastated by the bush fires.

There is an amazing line up of music. Our doors open from 10am and music is live from 11am. We’ll be serving food, drinks and a sausage sizzle.

Call us on 3409 9022 or email us at to book your table or bring a rug and enjoy the music and spectacular views.

I am a proud Aussie and proud to be Commodore of LSC, the best Boating Club in Queensland!!
