Event Details

The LSC Board invite you to the 72nd anniversary of the Little Ship Club, the Sailpast and Commodore’s at Home on Saturday 28 October 2023.

As we approach the 72nd anniversary of the Little Ship Club, we encourage you to join us for the upcoming Sailpast and Commodore’s at Home event on Saturday 28 October, 2023. Please extend this invitation to past members and your boating friends for a memorable celebration.

As a respect to our naval heritage, Patron Commander Fiona Southwood from HMAS Moreton will be attending and our fleet will receive a blessing from the Chaplain to the Naval Association Qld section.

Our Club started life as a Volunteer Coastal Patrol and a Naval Auxiliary Patrol unit whose members donated their time and boats to patrol and keep Queensland waters safe.

At an Annual General Meeting of our Club (then the NAP Association) on 18 October 1951, the Club was renamed the Little Ship Club – Qld Squadron.

This event will be a very special day to commemorate our heritage with the Navy and boating camaraderie on Moreton Bay.

The schedule for the celebration is:

10:30am Commodore, Vice Commodore and Rear Commodore greet Patron Commander Fiona Southwood and guests

11:00am Guests board Balamara at the Club and other Vessels assemble for Sailpast at Myora – (monitor VHF Channel 69)

11:30am Sailpast commences at Myora with salute to Patron, Commodore and guests

All vessels will be monitoring VHF Channel 69 and Vice Commodore’s vessel “Seas the Day” will lead and the vessel at the rear will be “Arietta”. Members and guests will be able to anchor in Deanbilla Bay as the Club intends to run our bus to pick up and drop off members and guests throughout the day.

Can you please advise our Sailpast co-ordinator Rod Caldwell here.  If you are able to attend the Sailpast with your vessel name and details and whether you need a pick up at Deanbilla.

Looking forward to celebrating this auspicious occasion with you.
