The LSC Board invite you to the 73rd anniversary of the Little Ship Club, the Sailpast and Commodore’s at Home on Saturday 21
The LSC Board invites you to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Little Ship Club with our Sailpast and Commodore’s at Home event on Saturday, 21 September 2024.
In honouring our naval heritage, we are pleased to welcome Patron Commander Rose from HMAS Moreton, who will be in attendance. Our fleet will also receive a blessing from the Chaplain of the Naval Association Qld section. The Little Ship Club began as a Volunteer Coastal Patrol and Naval Auxiliary Patrol unit, with members generously donating their time and boats to help keep Queensland waters safe. This year, we also commemorate 80 years since the winding down of the NAP flotilla and personnel in August/September 1944. This followed the arrival of Royal Navy capital ships in Sydney and the formation of the British Pacific Fleet. By June 1944, official Commonwealth funding ceased, and the remaining boats were either returned to their owners or disposed of. |
